An Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) is any type of brain damage that happens after birth. They can be caused by trauma, substance abuse or disease. Damage to the brain can result in temporary or permanent impairments to physical, intellectual or emotional functioning – or to all three. Regardless of the cause, helping a person with an ABI can be a challenge.
The unique needs and requirements of a person living with an acquired brain injury can be difficult for family members to meet on their own. Visiting Angels® Inc. can help by providing professional, trained nurses and rehabilitation therapists who can provide care in the home and a variety of additional services to help everyone make the best of a difficult situation.
